A PROGRAM EXECUTIVE holds a junior-level position involving administrative and consulting support responsibilities. He/she is expected to have a basic understanding of the principles and practices of public relations and will support tactical implementation on behalf of AXON’s clients,  working under the supervision of senior staff.


  • College or university degree in a relevant area (communications, pharmacy, science)
  • Junior-level writing skills (as assessed at interview using AXON’s writing tests)
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills


Business Development

  • Assist new business development by doing research, collecting information, creating competitor profiles, etc.

Consulting Process

  • Conduct research to support client mandates
  • Compile and manage databases and lists
  • Attend meetings/teleconferences as part of the consulting team and prepare meeting notes
  • Handle simple client inquiries
  • Participate in initial preparation for events
  • Follow clear briefs
  • Develop simple briefs and timelines
  • Write simple documents for editing by senior staff
  • Apply AXON and client style guides accurately to own work
  • Supervised involvement in media relations
  • Prepare media reports and lists
  • Manage supplier relationships for client
  • Demonstrate interest for media/stakeholder relations
  • Take ownership of small projects
  • Support company initiatives through active participation in staff meetings and other functions

Team Management

  • Provide support to team members and accounts within their practice group and to colleagues in general when required
  • Handle ongoing administrative duties, including preparing documents and presentations, faxing, filing and photocopying
  • Arrange and co-ordinate meetings and handle associated logistics
  • Keep senior team members informed of work in progress
  • Keep senior team members organised and aware of important deadlines
  • Participate in buddy system

General and Financial

  • Provide support to budget development and management
  • Adhere to budgets
  • Accurately and clearly track supplier costs
  • Ensure that assigned responsibilities are completed efficiently, effectively, with a high degree of attention to detail, on time and on budget
  • Participate on internal committees and in planning of company initiatives
  • Collaborate with other practice groups as required
  • Proactively meet billing targets and seek out work
  • Accurate completion of time sheets on a weekly basis
  • Be accountable for individual learning about the business, the industry and specific specialty skills

HR Management

  • Demonstrate responsibility for own individual development and expand knowledge through direct experience, internal development and training courses, as necessary
  • Adhere to high standards of service excellence for AXON and the client


  • Junior writing skills with demonstrated potential for more advanced work
  • Ability to create and manage databases
  • Strong demonstrable computing skills with all the main programs used by AXON
